Lac Sauvage (Wild Lake) is surrounded by public
forests to the South and by the
CTEL (Centre Touristique Éducatif des
Laurentides) to the East. Lac Sauvage is located in
the municipality of
Saint-Faustin-Lac-Carré,
which is part of
MRC des Laurentides.
The mandate of APELS is to protect the aquatic
environment of the lake and the forests surrounding
it.
There are 80 members in the association and 70 of
them own a cottage on the lake or are residents at
the lake.
Since 1988, APELS publishes a quarterly newsletter, "Le
HUARD" with the objective of sharing local
news and increasing the awareness of its members to
environmental questions.
APELS is a member of:
-
RAL, that regroups 10 lake associations,
similar to APELS, in the region of
Saint-Faustin-Lac-Carré
-
CRELA,
Environmental regional council of the
Laurentians.
